
Social Housing/ Living Alternatives for a Urban Agricultural Context

In the short requirements of the project, it is requested to design single family residences in the area called Laz District, where the existing residences in poor structural condition will be demolished and replaced with more efficient ones for the exercise. It will be designed not only in terms of design layout, but also in terms of environmental and structural efficiency. The typology of the residential units will be for row houses and a single family.The project was developed in three phases; Research and documentation, work on housing design, and finally land settlement strategies and public communal space design.
Considering the project constraints; each row of houses must have at most 5 houses and at least 3 houses. Each house should be approximately 70/80 m2. It is desired that the houses have a maximum of 3 floors. 3, 2, 1; It is possible to mix typologies. Houses may or may not be high above the ground.
Within the scope of the project, based on the survey of the agricultural areas of İnciraltı, it is requested to explore possibilities of combining low-cost family residences by giving priority to the workers there, namely those engaged in agriculture and floriculture. Initial research phase, growing areas, urban farms and retail/markets etc. It aims to identify the current and future needs of the society that may be involved.
